Memorial website in the memory of your loved one
This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, William Barnaby who was born in Connecticut on Jan 14, 1986 and passed away on Sep 11, 2004 at the age of 18. We will remember him forever. Willie loved being an uncle, anything to do with music, playing his guitar, and being with his family and friends. Anyone who met Willie instantly fell in love with him. He was unique and so very special. He had a heart of gold and his smile was contagious. Willie had the best sense of humor and could always make you laugh…”No doubt!”
Willie was the youngest of seven kids and was the kindest and gentlest soul. He was born premature and even when he was so tiny and helpless he lived every day with so much hope and love. He was always surrounded by family and friends, he loved with his whole heart and he laughed always. Willie was an individual, he was everything to everyone...He was Willie.
His greatest accomplishment was graduating from high school and being proud of all the hard work he had done. He was funny, sweet and so caring. Compassion for others, he saw goodness in everyone he met. Willie was the type of person you hoped you could be.
Music was a part of Willie, like the strings on a guitar...He was the music. Beating on his drums, jamming on his guitars, freestyling with his friends, he was always eager to learn, to be heard, and to play.

Willie will never be far from our hearts, our thoughts, or our prayers...He is always with us...Willie's love will never die...
If you have visited this site won't you please light a candle so that we may know that you were here...If you would like to write a story - a memory or something special you remember about Willie please do so in the tributes and condolences section.  We thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

His legacy
WILLIE'S KIDS

WILLIE HAD A SPIRIT AND A SPECIAL GIFT FOR ACCEPTING PEOPLE AS THEY ARE- HE HELD NO REGARD FOR STATUS OR POPULARITY, WILLIE LOVED EVERYONE UNCONDITIONALLY.  THE STUDENTS OF NFHS GOT TOGETHER AND FOUND A WAY TO MAKE SURE THAT WILLIES SPIRIT WILL ALWAYS LIVE ON.

THE FACULTY AND STUDENTS AT NFHS FOUNDED A CLUB THAT IS CALLED WILLIE'S KIDS.  STUDENTS FROM THE SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM AT THE SCHOOL ARE TAKEN ON OUTINGS AND ARE ACCOMPANIED BY STUDENTS IN THE MAINSTREAM POPULATION.  THE FIRST OUTING PLANNED FOR WILLIE'S KIDS WAS HELD IN DECEMBER, IT WAS A TRIP TO THE LOCAL MALL.  THE SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS WERE PAIRED UP WITH MAINSTREAM STUDENTS AND WENT ABOUT THE MALL DOING SOME CHRISTMAS SHOPPING FOR THEIR FAMILIES.  THIS OUTING WAS IMPORTANT FOR TWO REASONS- ONE IT GAVE THE SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN VITAL LIFE SKILLS IN REGARDS TO PURCHASING GIFTS, MAKING CHANGE AND CHOOSING APPROPRIATE GIFTS.  SECOND IT GAVE ALL THE STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT COMPASSION, ACCEPTANCE AND TOLERANCE.  THESE ARE ALL VIRTUES THAT WILLIE POSSESED.  OUR FAMILY IS DEEPLY MOVED BY THE EFFORTS OF THE FACULTY AND THE STUDENTS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO PLAN SUCH A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FOR ALL.  IT IS OUR HOPE THAT WILLIE'S KIDS BECOMES NOT ONLY A CLUB BUT A WAY OF LIFE FOR THOSE WHO JOIN.  IF WE CAN LEARN ANYTHING FROM WILLIE IT IS THAT PEOPLE ARE ALL THE SAME INSIDE- THEY ALL DESIRE TO BE LOVED AND ACCEPTED.  WILLIE ONCE SAID THAT THE KIDS IN SPECIAL ED ARE NO DIFFERENT REALLY - THEY ALL LAUGH AND THEY ALL CRY- THEY WANT TO HAVE FRIENDS AND JUST HANG OUT- HOW WISE WILLIE WAS - IF ONLY WE COULD ALL SEE THE WORLD IN SUCH A WAY.  AS FURTHER OUTINGS TAKE PLACE AT WILLIE'S KIDS WE WILL POST THEM HERE-.  YOU DON'T NEED TO BELONG TO A "CLUB" TO LIVE THE WAY WILLIE DID - YOU ONLY NEED A LITTLE PATIENCE AND A LITTLE UNDERSTANDING-

More of his legacy...
